Industries

Cereals

A range of dosing and mixing processing is involved in the cereal industry. Our high accuracy weighing belts and vibratory feeders are utilized to combine larger sized granular ingredients before packaging. We have designed and installed pneumatic conveying systems for handling fragile products. We have significant experience handling raw ingredients such as flour and sugar, installing silo storage systems and conveying, sieving and dosing these ingredients. Many of our raw ingredients handling projects involve ATEX certification, and we have experience designing equipment for Zone 20 and 21 environments.

Construction

Rospen provides turnkey solutions for leading multinational companies in the construction materials sector. We provide equipment for processing and conveying dry materials. Typical materials we handle are sand, cement, aggregates, and minor additives which are used in the industry. We have carried various projects including materials processing for gypsum plants, weighing and dosing of ingredients in the production of bitumen-based products and complex material dosing solutions for the accurate handling of minor and micro additives.

Defence

Projects in the defence industry sometimes call for the handling and processing of bulk materials. We have carried out projects for large multinational customers in a variety of different fields. Past projects have included ingredient handling and dosing systems, such as powder to liquid mixing. We have designed and installed systems for accurately dosing and weighing granular bulk materials. Our experience allows us to adapt to our customer’s requirements on a project by project basis, with extensive design and project documentation work and rigorous factory and site acceptance testing.

Energy

The energy sector covers a wide range of disciplines. Rospen can provide solutions for the handling, dosing and weighing of powders and bulk materials. We have experience in dosing and mixing high value rare metallic ingredients in the renewables and waste recovery sector, providing containerized resolutions for the offshore drilling industry with a powder to a liquid make-up system for lubrication during the drilling process. Our loss-in-weight screw feeders are often used in flue gas treatment processes. To absorb undesirable compounds and for pH correction processes, we add sodium bicarbonate and activated carbon to waste gas air flows. We are actively involved in the nuclear energy sector with experience in nuclear-decommissioning projects. We have recently been involved in the battery sector designing systems for the dosing and packaging of high-value battery materials.

Food & Snack Food

To facilitate the necessary cleaning between regular product changes associated with flavour applications in the snack food sector, Rospen have developed an even faster system for dismantling the screw feeder. Clip on fronts with over toggle clamps are offered as an alternative to the standard hand knob arrangement. Unusual configuration of metering screw feeders mounted in opposite directions on a single base plate fed via a common bifurcated hopper.

Water & Wastewater

Rospen have provided systems in the water and wastewater treatment industry for many years. Over AMP5 and AMP6, our primary focus has been providing alkalinity dosing systems for phosphorous removal schemes. We have worked with Welsh Water, Wessex Water and South West Water and with businesses that supply design and construction services to the industry. We can provide equipment for various sizes of treatment plants; we have installed systems to handle powder in 25kg sacks, 1,000kg bulk bags, or 50,000kg storage silos. The systems we have supplied to the industry are technically robust and able to meet process and operational requirements, designed to optimize the storage of the powder, improve plant automation and achieve high dosing accuracies over the equipment lifetime.
